Mechanical Developer

Job Summary

  • Creating various mechanical components, products, and assemblies for RV and marine systems

  • Products may include: enclosures or component designs, design of injection molded parts, product designs for the production teams, design and assembly of product test jigs, etc.

  • Product conceptualization, planning, design, development, testing, and finalization to a marketable product

  • Measuring performance, identify product problems, propose and implement suitable solutions

  • Creating designs using SolidWorks and similar programs, product documentation, and revision histories

  • Creation of plans, technical documentation, testing methods and procedures, and manuals for various mechanical products

  • On occasion, some travel could be required

  • Position may also include other tasks as required by Spyder Controls

Compensation

Annual compensation will range from $44,000 to $90,000 depending on applicant education, experience, credentials and performance.

Applicant Qualifications

  • Legally entitled to live and work in Canada

  • Highly analytical mind, with ability to grasp concepts quickly, plan, and implement successful mechanical projects

  • Above average computer skills, proficiency in MCAD software, and strong spatial visualisation for 3D modeling

  • High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and good organizational skills

  • Ability to direct multiple projects and meet deadlines maintaining regular schedule with occasional extended hours

Desirable (But Not Required) Attributes Include

  • Exposure to or experience in designing mechanical parts

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar

  • EIT, PEng, or similar credentials

  • In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks
